Australia enter World Cup 2015 as the top-ranked ODI team

Australia will go into the Cricket World Cup 2015 as the top ranked One-Day International side. On Sunday, the World Cup co-hosts beat England to win the tri-series final at Perth. Australia are now six points ahead of the second placed India.

ICC released the latest rankings on Monday, which mentions South Africa’s AB de Villiers as the top ranked batsman followed by Hashim Amla and India’s Virat Kohli. Among bowlers, Saeed Ajmal and Sunil Narine retain the first and second position, but both the bowlers will not play the World Cup, so Dale Steyn at number three will be the highest ranked bowler in the tournament.
