Barack Obama ceremonial banquet: Sachin Tendulkar among VVIPs guests

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is among the few celebrities, who are invited for the ceremonial banquet hosted by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee for his United States President Barack Obama, scheduled to be held on Sunday.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the President Obama to be the chief guest during the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi during the former’s visit to the United States. Obama duly accepted the invite and will arrive in Delhi on Sunday along with First Lady Michelle. As reported by Cricketcountry, apart from Tendulkar, the guest list also includes industrialists Anil and Mukesh Ambani, tennis player Sania Mirza, and actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Tendulkar, who is a recipient of Bharat Ratna, also participated in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan after PM Modi nomimated him. Tendulkar’s played at the top level for 24 years, during which he scored 100 international centuries. He was also a member of the India’s World Cup winning side in 2011.
