Former South African cricketer Barry Richards thinks that Virat Kohli does show more promise than the other contemporary Indian batsmen but cannot be compared to batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar as yet.

“Virat Kohli undoubtedly is the best batsman in this current Indian team by a distance. He is really talented and is someone, whom you will like to pay to watch his batting,” Richards said in praise of the 26-year-old.

But the batting legend of yesteryears opined that Kohli stiil needs to work on his execution before he can be touted to be the next Sachin Tendulkar and explaining the difference between the two, he said the above words.

Richards played for South Africa in four Tests before the nation went in to isolation for 21 years due to apartheid.
