India’s priority is World Cup, not Test series: Stuart Clark

MS Dhoni being rested for the first Test in Brisbane made former Australian seamer Stuart Clark assume that Indian cricket’s priority lies in doing well in the ICC World Cup 2015 than the upcoming Test series against Australia Down Under.

Clark’s jibe does make a lot of sense and it’s reflected in India rankings in the respective formats. While India, the defending World Champions and winner of Champions Trophy are ranked one in One-Day International (ODI) cricket, they are placed at number six in Test cricket.

But will another whitewash be a good mental preparation for a team that’s bound to be jaded by the time the World Cup starts?
