IPL 2015: Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets at Visakhapatam, Stars and flops

It was a much-awaited clash between New South Wales’ two dashing young cricketers David Warner and Steve Smith. The World Cup winning teammates, this time sported the colours of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) respectively and led their respective teams. For the fourth time in a row in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it was Smith’s RR that ended up as the winner to now sit comfortably on top of the points table.

Smith won the toss and invited SRH to bat. Warner once again began well but his innings of quick 21 from 14, was cut short by a run out. The other batters struggled against the quality RR bowling as SRH only managed 127 for five in their stipulated 20 overs.

Turning point: Warner’s was the first wicket to fall and SRH lost the plot after losing him. Warner looked comfortable and struck the ball brilliantly. His run out changed the momentum and none of the batsmen got going as SRH could just manage 127.

For RR, it was once again Ajinky Rahane, who gave them a solid start and kept them in the hunt. The SRH bowlers tried their best to stifle the runs but Rahane’s blade seemed to broad to beat. Ravi Bopara picked up two wickets and kept SRH in the match till late. In fact, it was a boundary off the last ball from James Faulkner that sealed the match in RR’s favour.
