Australia and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) captain Steven Smith has been in India for close to four months now. It all started with Australia s four-match Test series with India in February this year. The series, a closely-contested one, ended for Australia in despair as they went down fighting 1-2. However, since then, Smith has had a good time with the RPS in Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10. From being an underdog, the Smith-led Pune franchise will take field against Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 10 final on Sunday as title favourites. RPS have beaten MI on all three occasions this year and that gives them the edge over their opponents.

On the eve of the big final, Smith called this long-yet-memorable journey in India as incredible . In an Instagram post on Sunday, Smith said that playing for Pune this season has been a terrific experience and that he was looking forward to the last day in India the IPL final before leaving for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Smith made a collage of his experience from the last few months and posted it along with a heart-warming message. The four pictures Smith selected included an IPL image with teammate and former captain MS Dhoni, an image of him with the Dalai Lama, celebration of a Test century and an interesting incident between him and Wriddhiman Saha during the Test series.

The last 4 months here in India have been incredible. There has been some ups and downs along the way but I ve learnt such a great deal. The Test matches were tough but so enjoyable to be apart of. I ve met some wonderful people, and I ve made some new friends, Smith wrote in his post.

The IPL and playing with Pune has been a terrific experience and I look forward to spending my last night here in India battling it out in the Final. Thank you to everyone here in India that has made this trip so unforgettable, added Smith, stating he was grateful for the opportunity.

RPS and MI will clash in the final of IPL 10 on Sunday. If they win the final, they would be crowned as the champions for the first time in the history of the tournament in potentially their last ever game in the league.
