Journalists roughed by N Srinivasan’s security staff

Former BCCI President N Srinivasan’s security staff allegedly roughed up media-persons in Sringeri on Friday, when they attempted to get his reaction on the Supreme Court judgment that doesn’t allow him to contest for the Board’s election.

As reported by Times of India, the Indian Cements chief walked out of a religious ceremony at the mutt after offering prayers and several media reporters rushed to him for his reactions on the court’s verdict. Srinivasan refused to reply and proceeded towards his car.

The security staff allegedly assaulted a couple of them and a Times Now reporter, Nisha, got hurt in the process. The police had to intervene, who helped Srinivasan to move out of the place and pacified the angry reporters.

Chikkamagluru SP R Chetan told TOI that Srinivasan refused to reply to reporters’ questions and when his security staff tried to keep reporters away, one of them pushed at them.
