KL Rahul became the first Karnataka batsman to score a Ranji Trophy triple-hundred against Uttar Pradesh at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on day two in the eighth round of Ranji Trophy 2014-15. Rahul reached the feat in 422 balls and hit 42 fours and 3 sixes.

He registered the historic knock in the company of Abrar Kazi and surpassed Kedar Jadhav’s 327. Previously, Gundappa Viswanath’s 247 in 1977-78 was the best score against Uttar Pradesh by a Karnataka batsman.

Rahul helped his team reach a mammoth score as Karnataka ended day two with 719 for 9.
