Phil Hughes’s family thanks supporters in Australia through newspapers

Phillip Hughes’s family bought full pages of newspapers on Sunday around Australia to express their gratitude for showing support after the Test batsman’s untimely death.

The pages read, “Thank You From The Hughes Family,” with a photograph of Hughes in his “baggy green” Test cap.

Hughes’ father, Gregory, mother Virginia, brother Jason, and sister Megan wrote about the pain that caused by Hughes demise. Hughes succumbed to death after getting struck by a short ball on the lower back of his head during a Sheffield Shield match.

The message read, “Words cannot express our sorrow at Phillip’s passing, but your love and support has given us great strength at this very difficult time.”
