Team India departed for West Indies on Tuesday where they will play four Tests. Tamil Nadu batsman Murali Vijay has been one of the mainstays of the Test side over the past few years, and has been ably supported at the other end by Delhi dasher Shikhar Dhawan. Filling up the large boots of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir was not going to be easy for anyone but Vijay and Dhawan have done decently so far. The long West Indian tour will surely test them. The Sehwag-Gambhir pair had amassed 4,412 runs at 52.52, replacing them Vijay-Dhawan, so far have put on 1,386 runs at 46.20. Both share good camaraderie off the field and in coming days, they will be expected to give India a strong start. Off to the Caribbean isles, Indian cricketers will have to get used to the ‘Maan’ greetings and it seems Vijay has already prepared well for the same. Before taking off, Vijay posted a picture on Instagram with his “Maan”.
