Record-breaker Pranav Dhanawade set to play in England for Worli Cricket Club
Dhanawade is now all set to play in the difficult English conditions as he is expected to play a total of nine games for Worli Cricket Club in Leicester in England.
Young prodigy Pranav Dhanawade created a stir in the fraternity when he smashed over 1,000 runs in an officially recognised game recently. His incredible innings came against Arya Gurukul while representing KC Gandhi Higher Secondary School in the quarter-final of HT Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament, which was organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association in June 2015. As Hindustan Times reports, Dhanawade is now all set to play in the difficult English conditions as he is expected to play a total of nine games for Worli Cricket Club in Leicester in England. Dhanawade broke a 1116-year-old record of an unbeaten 628 runs, which was set and English schoolboy AEJ Collins in 1899. Dhanawade scored 1009 runs from 323 deliveries and that too at a brisk rate. His innings lasted for 395 minutes at a staggering strike rate of 312.38. Recently, a controversy sparked when Arjun Tendulkar, was selected ahead of Dhanawade in the Under-16 West Zone squad. Later, the air was clear when there were reports stated the fact that West Zone's U-16 team is picked from the MCA U-16 team, which Dhanawade was not a part of.
As of now, Dhanawade will be hoping to reap fruitful results from this tour and further hone his skills in the taxing English conditions.
