Sanjay Manjrekar has added another feather to his cap. As a singer, he has recorded a Bengali song for a film to be directed by Mainak Bhaumik. The music director of the film is Anupam Roy.

Speaking to Anandabazaar Patrika, Manjrekar said, “I have always had an attraction for Bengali songs. I used to worship Kishore Kumar. I have heard a lot of his Hindi songs. Later on, was amazed to hear his Bengali songs.”

Manjrekar, whose native language is Marathi, was asked on why he didn’t try out singing in the Marathi industry.

“I cannot go and ask people to let me sing. If someone asks, then I can. Moreover, I like soft music, which you can find in Rabindra sangeet [songs written/composed by Rabindranath Tagore]. You can feel the mood while singing Rabindrasangeet,” said the former Indian cricketer turned commentator.
