Cricketers joining political parties are quite popular these days. Over the years political parties rope in big names to garner votes from the public and certainly a famous name from the cricketing world will boost the image of any party.<p></p><p></p>According to <em>in.news.yahoo.com</em>, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in talks with former India captain Sourav Ganguly to join their party. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in December, 2014 had nominated Ganguly for his Swachh Bharat campaign, which he duly accepted.<p></p><p></p>Post retirement from cricket, Ganguly has been involved in several activities related to the sport. From cricket administration to business to commentary to Television host, Ganguly has kept himself busy.<p></p><p></p>Ganguly was also offered a BJP seat in 2013 but he refused and said, "Yes, I have received a proposal, but am yet to decide anything. It's a big decision, and not an easy one. I will have to sort out so many things."<p></p><p></p>Ganguly is one of the most popular cricketers in India and with him joining; the party is bound to receive a major boost, especially in the West Bengal region.
