After a disappointing One-Day International (ODI) series Down Under, team India were hoping to put up a spirited performance in the Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Their ammunition got a boost when T20 specialists Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina arrived as reinforcements. To their fans’ delight, the team even started well by posting a huge total . But one batsman still had to bear the brunt of Twitterati despite doing fairly well.

Batting first, India posted 188 runs on the board, thanks to vice-captain Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 90. He had a great company in Raina, who did quite well too in his 34-ball 41 knock. However, the fans were far from being pleased. They believed that the performance wasn’t upto the standard Raina has set over the years as a T20 batsman.

In no time, the batsman started trending, with netizens criticising him for his slow batting. Raina recently joined the team after being dropped from the ODIs. In the meantime, he led his state team Uttar Pradesh to Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy, India’s domestic T20 competition. Here are a few unruly tweets that came the elegant southpaw’s way after his performance.
