Yuvraj Singh ties up with his IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils for cancer awareness

The May 1 clash between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will be dedicated to the ones, who are fighting the dreadful disease of cancer. DD’s star cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who himself has been suffered from the disease, on Tuesday announced a tie-up with his franchise to promote awareness about fighting cancer.

Yuvraj’s cancer foundation, ‘YouWeCan’ in alliance with DD and Max Hospitals have announced free cancer detection clinics on May 1. On this day, DD players will be seen wearing lavender coloured jerseys.

“When I came back after recovering from cancer, I struggled a bit with my lung capacity. When I successfully came back, I knew that battle to fight cancer comes from within.”

“For me, more than responsibility, it is a duty. I have been fortunate to come out of it and it is my endeavour to inspire people to fight the battle,” said Yuvraj in a report from PTI.

Around 100 children, who are fighting the dreadful disease will be watching that particular IPL match live from Feroz Shah Kotla stands.
