Chief Selector Sandeep Patil applies for the role of India’s head coach

Chief selector Sandeep Patil has applied for the role of India’s head coach just few days after Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) summoned applications for the said position. Saneep told PTI today that, “I have just applied (for the post).” Patil has been the chief selector of the men’s senior team and has also coached Kenya in the past. he although did not accept or refuse the fact if anyone from the BCCI had asked him to do so. But there are hearsay’s that he had been advised by the higher authorities in the Board to apply for the key role. As of now, Sanjay Bangar has been appointed as the interim coach for the upcoming tour of West Indies and Zimbabwe. The senior Indian team has been missing  ahead coach after Duncan Fletcher threw his towel following India’s awful exhibition against England in 2014.
