The highest Test average for Australia does not belong to Don Bradman!

Don Bradman, despite his nigh-impossible 99.94, does not hold the record for the best batting Test average by an Australian. The record of 102.50, in fact, had been standing for over a decade before Bradman’s birth, and though there have been people who have gone past the number temporarily, Albert Trott has reclaimed the spot.

Why does Trott’s name not come up when one discusses career averages? After his three Tests for Australia, Trott migrated to England and played two more Tests for them, averaging a measly 5.75. His average from a career spanning five Tests thus came down to an acceptable (or rather, human) 38.00.
