‘Delhi da munda’ Virat Kohli set to become a ‘Mumbaikar’

India’s Test captain and apple of the nation’s eye Virat Kohli has been an out-and-out Delhi guy. Born and raised in the national capital, Kohli imbibed the culture of the city right from the beginning. Today, even as he has traveled and played around the world, the aggression and machismo that comes naturally to a Delhiite reflects in his game and personality. But it seems it is going to change soon. ALSO READ: Cheat days for Virat Kohli? The fitness freak spotted with Mughlai food!

If reports are to be believed, Kohli may soon shift to Mumbai. The Delhi dasher has reportedly bought a 7,000 square feet house in south Mumbai’s Worli area for a whopping INR 34 crore. The flat is in the C-Wing of an under-construction project called Omkar 1973. Interestingly, Kohli will get the flat with just four walls and will have to get all the remaining work done as per his own specifications. A report in Mid-day quoted a source from the builder’s office as saying, “The project has flats on bare shell ‘Bespoke’ model, which means the flats can be designed as per the owner’s style and taste. The builder offers only a floor, with no columns in between. It’s like a playground and the owner can make anything inside. One can have any size of bedroom to a king size hall, or a study.”

Kohli has been spending a lot of time in Mumbai of late. His alleged ladylove Anushka Sharma, who is a Bengaluru resident, also spends the majority of her time in the city as her work assignments keep her here. This may well be a reason behind Kohli building his nest in the city. Recently, a lot of his charity activities, like a football match between Bollywood celebs and cricketers and a gala dinner have also taken place in Mumbai. No wonder he plans to have a house in the city.
