The connection between cricket and World War II World War II  is long, few of which has been documented in CricLife.

But not many are aware that a cricketing code was used during World War II. The code alerted Allied troops about the assault on Italy’s Monte Cassino monastery in March 1944.

And the code? “Bradman will be batting tomorrow”.
