Finally, Harbhajan Singh opens up on why he slapped ‘nautanki’ Sreesanth
For years, this has remained a mystery, as to why Harbhajan Singh slapped his fellow Team India mate S Sreesanth after match between their respective franchises during the inaugural edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). The feisty off-spinner had to pay a heavy price for the act, as he was banned from the entire season. But still he never spoke openly about it. Sreesanth on the other hand, grabbed the media spotlight with pictures of him crying went viral. Years later, he even said a few things about that fateful night and even called Harbhajan a ‘back-stabber’. And now, the ‘turbanator’ has finally said something on the incident for the very first time. Though he has maintained in his past interviews that it was a mistake on his part, he has for the first time commented on Sreesanth.
“Actually, he [Sreesanth] did a ‘nautanki’ (drama). It was my fault that I did that (slapping) on the ground. I have admitted in all my interviews that I committed this mistake in my life,” said Harbhajan recently on a Television show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. The 36-year old cricketer has admitted of having made the mistake, but at the same time, criticised Sreesanth for creating a drama. Wonder what Sreesanth has to say now.
