Former West Indian spinner Rangy Nanan passes away at 62

Former West Indian and Trinidad and Tobago cricketer Rangy Nanan died at the age of 62 on Wednesday morning at Couva District Hospital as reported by Trinidad Express Newspaper. His death was also confirmed by his son Gary. According to him, Nanan suffered a stroke back in 2012 due to which he was impound to bed.

Nanan also served as a police officer but after suffering the stroke he wasn’t able to continue his services. Nanan possessed a prolific First-Class record where he played 94 Tests and chipped 366 wickets at a decent average of 23.10.

Nanan just played a solitary Test against Pakistan at Faisalabad in 1980-81, he was impressive as he scalped four wickets and displayed some terrific control with his line and length. Naran was hardly known for his batting skills but surprisingly he had a century to his name in First-Class cricket. RIP Rangy Nanan!
