Here’s Shane Warne’s all-time West Indies Test side

Since the last few months, Australian spin legend Shane Warne has been naming best elevens of different teams and revealing it through his Facebook account. For every team, he has criteria of selecting players and that comprises players he has played a competitive cricket against. But this time, Warne revealed his best West Indian Test side from the ones he has watched. Also Read: Shane Warne picks old foe Sourav Ganguly as captain of his greatest ever Indian Test team; names “great friend” VVS Laxman as 12th man

This time, it was revealed by a tweet from Wide World of Sports which reads, “How do you think @shanewarne’s done? #AUSvWI #WWOS”, with the image of Warne’s best West Indies team. This team starts with openers Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes and then followed by other players Viv Richards, Brian Lara, Clive Loyd (captain), Jeff Dujon (WK), Malcolm Marshall, Michael Holding, Curtly Ambrose, Joel Garner and 12th man Andy Roberts.

West Indies have struggled in the longer format in recent times but once boasted of a team of world beaters. Warne even went on to justify his picks in the commentary box during the second Test between Australia and West Indies on the Boxing Day. Like his previous best elevens, this too would have been a tough task for Warne as the whole team is full of legends and there is no player who has made his debut after 2000.

Earlier this year, he had revealed the West Indies XI from the players he played with and that looked like: D Haynes, C Gayle, R Richardson, B Lara (c), C Hooper, S Chanderpaul, R Jacobs (wk), I Bishop, C Ambrose, P Patterson and C Walsh.
