In that particular Test, Hughes walked out to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) for the first time in an international match, and he was wearing Michael Clarke’s shirt, as Hughes was a last minute call-up to the match for the second Test against Pakistan in 2010, and the left hander’s kit couldn’t be prepared in the short time.

On Saturday, Clarke led Australia to a memorable win against India, and posted an emotional tweet.

Clarke was extremely close to Hughes and the Australian captain overcame his emotions and injuries to play the Test. In fact, the entire Australian team played with Hughes’ number ‘408’ on their uniform and won the highly emotional Test by 48 runs. The team paid a fitting tribute to their team-mate, who lost his life last month after he succumbing to injuries he sustained during a Sheffield Shield match two days prior.
