The ICC, in jest, assigned the No. 1 ranking to every batsman after American rapper Kanye West tweeted: “no one is better than anyone”. In a picture shared by the ICC’s twitter page, all batsmen were displayed with a mention of “=1” in front of their names with a tweet saying, “If you say so yeezy”. As per Wednesday, the page went back to assigning the players their original ranking.

The ICC Test batting ranking is currently led by banned Australian cricketer Steve Smith with 929 points. Indian captain Virat Kohli lost his top spot in the latest Rankings after he had overtaken Australia’s Smith as the number one Test batsman just over a week ago.

Kohli’s 149 and 51 in the first Test at Edgbaston had propelled him to the No. 1 spot. But the 29-year-old could only add 23 and 17 in the second Test at Lord’s even as his side succumbed for 107 and 130, losing the match by an innings and 159 runs.

Kohli entered the Edgbaston Test on 903 points and after Test had amassed 934 points to push Smith (929) down to the second spot. However, the Indian captain lost 15 points after the second Test and is now at 919 points.
