ICC World Cup 2015 to be shared if match ends in tie

Come March 2015 and the world will be eager to see the new champion in cricket. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has added a little twist to the event. According to the latest statement released by ICC, If the final of the World Cup 2015 ends in a tie, then the trophy will be shared between both the teams.

As far as the knockout matches are concerned there won’t be a Super Over. In the knockouts, “The side finishing in the higher position in the group stage will progress,” according an ICC statement.

The prize money of the mega tournament has been hiked by 20 per cent with the World Cup-winning team taking home $ 3.75 million. Moreover, Decision Review System which has been sporadically used by countries will be a part of all the matches in the World Cup.
