“I’m single, let’s dance,” parties Virat Kohli after BREAK-UP with Anushka Sharma

One of the most celebrated high-profile couples of present times, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have finally split. While the immensely popular cricketer has moved on and is back to his ‘single’ life, the actress is maintaining a stoic silence over the separation.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Kohli has moved on after the split and his act of un-following Anushka on Twitter only gives strength to the claim. Recently, at the birthday party of actor Angad Bedi in Mumbai, the cricketer was enjoying himself on the dance floor, greeting the other attendees with “I’m single, let’s dance”.

A guest at the party revealed that Kohli had been confiding in them that he was “cloistered around his controlling girlfriend”, who was spending little time with him, but putting too much pressure to conform. While he has got back to his “natural, old self”, Anushka has taken to work to get out of it. The news of the split has come as a shock to many as the two looked very much in love till recently. Anushka had spoken about touring the World Cup and making appearances at cricket tournaments, saying, “I am in a relationship with Virat and he wants me to come and watch him play and I want to watch him. Why the hell am I going to listen to anyone else? But sometimes, when I am in a stadium and Virat doesn’t do well, I wonder if I have done something wrong. I know that the cameras are on me… I’m great in front of the camera, so that’s ok, but I know that all those people are thinking, that it’s because of me.”

Though there has been no confirmation from either one of them, people close to them are pretty sure about the break-up. And the reason for the split? Well it is rumoured to be Kohli’s proposal for marriage that Anushka turned down, categorically stating that “it would be better for them to focus on their careers instead, as they are both young and have a long journey ahead of them.”
