India vs Australia, 1st Test, Day Five at Adelaide Oval: Pick of the tweets

After a splendid battle between bat and ball on the final day of the first Test at Adelaide Oval, Australia emerged victorious by 48 runs.

Indian captain Virat Kohli and opener Murali Vijay batted through the second session on the final day of the first Test at Adelaide. The duo added 185 runs for the third wicket to put India in a strong position.

Chasing 364, the Test was wonderfully poised with all three results possible. Kohli brought up his second hundred of the match, while Vijay missed out as he was dismissed leg before by Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon on 99. Lyon finished with seven for 152, ending the Test with 12 wickets.

Earlier, Australian captain Michael Clarke declared before the day’s play began. However, he was forced to leave the field in the second session after damaging his right hamstring. The injury was bad enough to make him visit the hospital, putting his further participation in the match and series in doubt.

The match was also affected by poor umpiring over the four days.
