Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lock horns with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 28th match of the India Premier League (IPL) at Chidambaram stadium on Wednesday. Chennai is all set to witness the clash of the two most consistent sides in the IPL. Chennai will hope to retain their spot at the top of the table by defeating KKR.
CSK are high on confidence with a 97 run victory in their previous encounter against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). They have won five matches form their six outings in the tournament so far and are well placed at second position in the points table. Their batsmen played exceptionally well to set a target of 193 and the spinners dismantled the opposition’s batting line up. They have a well balanced team and everyone has peaked at the right moment. Suresh Raina started on a stagnant note but has been among the runs. Their batting line up is formidable and can destroy any bowling attack if they get going.
KKR’s last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was washed away due to rains and both the teams had to settle with one point each. They have won three matches from their six outings including a draw and are well placed at third position in the points table. A lot will depend on Gambhir as the CSK spinners are in good touch and Gambhir is a good player of spin. Sunil Narine’s inclusion will be a mystery, and the man to watch out for is Andre Russell who made an overall impact in the tournament so far. Their middle order has to step up make a significant contribution in this game. KKR will look forward to contain CSK in their own den and maintain their current position in the points table.
With the game being played in Chennai, CSK emerge favourites. Expect a run-fest as both the teams have a strong batting line up. We present you with the pick of the tweets.
KKR lost but happy for Ryan Tendoeschate. This should do his confidence a world of good. He has so much to offer to the #ipl2015.
