Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in their 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at MA Chidambaram stadium on Friday. CSK has been of the consistent sides throughout the season, while MI are enjoying a resurgent run. Both the teams had identical outcome in their previous encounters.

CSK won a thrilling encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and successfully defended a low total of 134. It was again mastermind MS Dhoni who rotated his bowlers tactfully and succeeded in giving Virat Kohli’s side a sucker punch. The team has a never ending batting line-up and boasts of having the best side.

In the bowling department, Ashish Nehra has led the pace attack well. Mohit Sharma and Ishwar Pandey have assisted him well. Young Pawan Negi came in for Ravichandra Ashwin and has contributed in a fine manner while Dwayne Bravo has continued to impress with his death bowling. The major concern remains with Ravindra Jadeja’s form and it is high time for the left-arm spinner to deliver.

On the other hand, MI are enjoying their persistent success. After losing five on a trot, things looked over for them but in reality it has not and now the team has a new challenge of making it to the top four. Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard ensured the team wins against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Wankhede stadium. Lendl Simmons has provided a solid start while skipper Rohit Sharma has give solidity in the middle-order.

Mitchell McCleneghan’s entry into the team has strengthened the pace attack. Lasith Malinga has not been that sharp but has delivered when it is most needed. Harbhajan Singh and Jagdish Sucheeth also have contributed decently.

With Chidambaram stadium a fortress for the ‘Men in Yellow’, CSK go into this clash as favourites. But one just cannot write off MI, who are in some real good form after a dismal start.
