Delhi Daredevils (DD) play Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Raipur on Saturday. DD are coming in this tie with a loss against reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while SRH won a close contest against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
For DD, the chances of qualifying to the play-offs are over. They have a dented confidence as they endured a loss in their previous encounter. Though they tasted defeat, the openers gave a good start but failed to make them big. JP Duminy has been a standout performer and requires his other batsmen to start firing as it is the business end of the season now.
In the bowling department, Amit Mishra has consistently delivered the goods. Zaheer Khan’s entry has strengthened the pace unit with Angelo Mathews and Albie Morkel supporting him. Imran Tahir seems to leak a lot of runs but keeps the knack of picking up wickets.
On the other hand, SRH did a good job with the bat. The opening pair of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan have provided a solid start often. The highest point was to see Eoin Morgan return to his best, as he played a knock, which helped SRH pile more than 200 runs.
The bowling has been decent with Bhuvneshwar Kumar spearheading the pace attack. Moises Henriques and Praveen Kumar have assisted him well as the management had chosen to drop both Dale Steyn and Trent Boult. Karn Sharma is the only specialist spinner in the team and has done a fine job so far.
SRH, who still have a chance of qualifying to the play-offs, will desperately look for a win while for DD, there’s a lot of pride to play for.
And we're in 4th place in the #IPL table. Great work guys! #OrangeArmy #DDvSRH

Saurabh Tiwary 26(25) ahead of Albie Morkel? Justify that. #DDvSRH #IPL2015

Tough luck @DelhiDaredevils. That partnership looked as if it would take them home but Bhuvy and Ishant were stingy in the end. #DDvSRH

The #OrangeArmy reverse the colour spectrum and come ahead of blue. Good win for @SunRisers. #DDvSRH

Two last over finishes & another great day in IPL, though it will leave Punjab and Delhi unhappy. But who can they blame except themselves?
— Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) May 9, 2015
What a finish. Ishant makes up for no Steyn and Boult but Delhi coukd have done with Albie there with the excellent Jhadav. #DDvSRH
— Gautam Bhimani (@gbhimani) May 9, 2015
Not quite the romantic ending where Ishant is slaughtered for three 6s
#DDvsSRH
— Gaurav Sethi (@BoredCricket) May 9, 2015
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled two fantastic overs at the death, I think Ishant Sharma can count himself lucky – plenty of hittable length!

2 exciting matches in a single day! #IPL2015

Ishant Sharma and David Warner having a deep conversation. Not sure there's enough brain cells between them to operate a microwave.

Again Delhi strike first in the final over. See saw at its best. #DDvSRH
— Gautam Bhimani (@gbhimani) May 9, 2015
There's so much to like about Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Seems like a genuinely nice young man, and is the only man in India who can land a yorker!
— Alt Cricket (@AltCricket) May 9, 2015
Superb 19th over by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar to bring Hyd back into contention. Has there been a better over at this stage of the match in IPL 8?
— Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) May 9, 2015
Well, that's one of the best death overs I've seen from an Indian bowler. Take a bow Bhuvneshwar Kumar!
— Alt Cricket (@AltCricket) May 9, 2015
Bhuvy is deadly and Karn was lethal. But @SunRisers could have done with Steyn or Boult now. #DDvSRH

de Kock's indifferent World Cup form did his DD selection – way too conservative from Kirsten
#DDvsSRH
— Gaurav Sethi (@BoredCricket) May 9, 2015
De Kock is playing a blinder in his comeback match, but Sunrisers are feeding him some horrific long-hops! Off-spin should be bowling now.

Were Kirsten and Duminy too conscious about too many Safas – these three were the way to go once Tahir and Angelo lost it.

Dont agree with #SRH 's decision of batting 1st on a pitch,u playing for the 1st time in the season n not much cricket is played in general.

Amit Mishra making sure we don't miss Tahir today.

— Gaurav Sethi (@BoredCricket) May 9, 2015
Like @SunRisers' idea to send in Karn Sharma as a pinch-hitter: a low-risk, high-reward approach on a slow pitch where 10 runs might be key.
— Alt Cricket (@AltCricket) May 9, 2015
Cheeky from Karn. Guides that for a 4. #OrangeArmy #DDvsSRH
