IPL 2015: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata, pick of the tweets

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be up against Royal Challengers of Bangalore (RCB) in the fifth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 at home in Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Saturday. This will be KKR’s second home game in a row, having beaten Mumbai Indians (MI) in the inaugural game, while RCB will play their first match of IPL 2015.

The defending champions defeated MI and showed why they are a team to beat. The win against Rohit Sharma’s side at Edens, marked their 10th consecutive win in the IPL. KKR again, are a stable unit amongst all teams.

Gautam Gambhir played a captain’s knock against MI and this will surely bring positives in the team. They have a strong batting line-up with Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Suryakumar Yadav. The batsmen in their line-up are strong, aggressive and hold the credential to turn the match on their head.

The team’s strength is their spin-attack with magician Sunil Narine the lead spinner. He bowled with a new arm action and was not much effective against MI. He will be complimented well by Shakib Al Hasan and Piyush Chawla. With Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav and Andre Russell in the team, KKR have a top pace attack.

For RCB, they paid a big price for under-stocking their foreign recruits. They will completely rely on Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, who are considered to be best picks for the shorter-format of the game. The West Indian had a dismal 2014 season and he will be ready to stamp his authority. The South African skipper had a fine World Cup 2015 and RCB will hope he can replicate the form for them. RCB expect a lot from their skipper Virat Kohli while new acquisition Dinesh Karthik hopes to settle the batting nerves.

RCB will badly miss the services of World Cup man-of-the-tournament Mitchell Starc for a few early games. Though without him, Ashok Dinda, Varun Aaron and Abu Nechim will form a fine fiery pace. Yuzvendra Chahal and Iqbal Abdullah will shoulder the spin responsibilities. Darren Sammy and David Wiese are the two reputed all-rounders that RCB have at their disposal.

Playing at home with a solid spin attack, KKR should be able to stop RCB. But with Gayle, De Villiers, Kohli and Karthik, RCB pose a big threat. It surely offers to be a match full of thrills and spills. We present you with the pick of the tweets.
