Mumbai Indians (MI) take on the star studded Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Both the teams have landed into the city with identical results in their previous encounters.
Both the teams are well in the run of making it to the play-offs. Each and every game for both the teams are crucial and they will look forward to win every game from here. MI won a thrilling encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they chased down they set target of 159. Their players have found form just at the right time and will look forward to escalate their momentum to contain CSK at their home venue. Most of their domestic players have stepped up and made a substantial contribution but they have to come out hard against RCB. MI with 12 points are placed at the fifth position in the points table.
For RCB, their star batsman Chris Gayle has found his mojo with the bat as he scored an enchanting 117 of 57 deliveries in their previous clash against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). RCB scored a gigantic score of 226 in their 20 overs and won the contest by 138 runs. They look like a well-oiled side and their bowling is further more strengthened with the inclusion of Sreenath Aravind who picked up four wickets against KXIP. However, once again much will depend on Mitchell Starc’s show. RCB with 11 points in their 10 encounters are placed at sixth position in the points table. As it is a decider game, RCB will look forward to keep their momentum going and beat MI to climb up in the points table.
Expect sixes and fours raining in the otherwise hot and humid Mumbai as two popular IPL giants collide at the Wankhede Stadium.
