After one and half months of scintillating cricket, it is time for the mega finale of the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). All the eight franchisee fought hard, but in the end it was Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the two best sides in the competition who will clash on Sunday at Kolkata for the gold.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor K N Tripathi along with several Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma will be gracing the event, which takes place on Sunday at Eden Gardens.

According to a report from Press Trust of India (PTI), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also invited cricket officials and dignitaries from Australia, South Africa, England and Sri Lanka.

“We have invited both the chief minister and the governor for the event. Besides, a host of state ministers are also expected to grace the occasion,” a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official said.

The cast and crew of upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ will also be seen at the grand finale. The DDD team which comprises of Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Shefali Shah along with filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani will be seen cheering the sides at Eden Gardens.

Cricket South Africa chief executive officer Haroon Lorgat, Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards and representatives from the Sri Lankan and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have also been invited for the final showdown of IPL. It is believed that former International Cricket Council (ICC) president Mustafa Kamal, too is in the city and could make his way to watch the finals.
