IPL 2016: David Warner condemns Tabraiz Shamsi’s ‘Bus-Driver’ celebration
Australia’s explosive opening batsman David Warner, who is currently leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL), has been in a terrific form. He currently owns the orange cap with 386 runs in seven matches as his side sits at the fourth position in the points table. And even as the bowlers have struggled to stop him, one bowler has managed to upset him, not with his bowling though.
On Saturday, after the swashbuckling opener slammed 92 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), opposition bowler Tabraiz Shamsi’s celebration after dismissing him irked the SRH skipper. With SRH comfortably placed at 150 within 15 overs, Warner went for big hit over long-off on Shamsi’s bowling but was caught by his opposite number Virat Kohli at the boundary.
At this instance, when Warner was walking back to the pavilion, he saw Shamsi and Kohli do the ‘Bus-Driver’ celebration, which he did not like. When asked what he was thinking while returning back, Warner made it clear that such behaviour would not be tolerated under his watch. “I was looking at Virat Kohli and I don’t think he was too impressed until he (Shamsi) got a bit closer. I think it’s a bit hard for a captain to stand there and not go (through) the motions. In my team, if someone does that at 150 off 15 overs, I wouldn’t accept that at all. I think it’s a bit fancy to be honest,” he was quoted saying by a cricket.com.au report.
Warner was not the only player to be unimpressed with Shamsi’s celebration. His compatriot and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) player Adam Zampa also tweeted his disapproval of Shamsi’s act:

Warner though had the last laugh as SRH won the game by 15 runs. South African player Shamsi joined the RCB squad after West Indian leg-spinner Samuel Badree was ruled out due to injury.
