The first match of the ninth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) of 2016 will be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) at Wankhede Stadium. For the very first time, MS Dhoni will leading a new team in the history of IPL. This new team is clubbed with popular names from the cricket fraternity, like Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, Kevin Pietersen, RP Singh, Irfan Pathan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Faf du Plessis, etc.

Since it will be played at the home ground of MI, so the upper hand automatically goes to the  home side. They have played 22 matches at home and won 17 out of it so far but their record in opening matches of IPL is very poor. They failed to win any opening match in last three season of IPL.

Well, it is surely expected to be a high scoring match with a new team making their firs appearance in the tournament. The match will start at 8.00 pm Indian Standard Time (IST) and will be telecasted live on Sony Six, Set Max and can be watch by live streaming through Hotstar.
