The Indian Premier League (IPL) season 9 is underway with two matches already being played so far. While the new entrant Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) led by MS Dhoni beat title holders Mumbai Indians (MI) in the tournament opener at Mumbai, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) brushed aside Delhi Daredevils (DD) with ease in the second match at Kolkata. The third match of the league will once again witness a new team take the field. Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions (GL) will make their IPL debut when they take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their backyard. GL have a core group of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players in Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith and is likely to be a force to reckon with.
On the other hand, KXIP are also led by a new captain in David Miller. They will be missing the services of retired Indian batting great Virender Sehwag, but in Glenn Maxwell and skipper ‘Killer-Miller’, they have enough firepower to match GL.
