West Indian mystery spinner Sunil Narine, who has been one of the most successful players in the Indian Premier (IPL) and has been instrumental in Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) success, had to be omitted from the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) final last year after his action was found illegal. There were several cries of foul and many raised eyebrows, and of course the decision didn’t help KKR, as they lost the final to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Finally a much needed relief for the Indian Premier League (IPL) defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as the tension hovering over Narine’s participation in the tournament has finally ended as the BCCI sub-committee dealing with suspect bowling actions gave the Trinidadian a clean chit on Sunday.

According to a BCCI release, the bowling review committee comprising Srinivas Venkatraghavan, Javagal Srinath and A V Jayaprakash examined the bowling action of Narine after he had undergone a biomechanical assessment.
