Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow stand up for a cause; support girls’ rights

England batsmen Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have taken a stand for a noble cause. The two young England and Yorkshire cricketers, who are in South Africa touring with the English team at the moment, took some time to get clicked with the banners reading, “I Support Row Like A Girl.”

‘Row Like A Girl’ is a part of United Kingdom’s ‘because I am a girl’ campaign, which intends to raise awareness regarding girls’ rights that are being threatened by poverty, gender inequality, violence, poor education, unfair policies, ingrained attitudes, conflict and disasters across the globe. Under the campaign, four girls are currently Rowing in the Atlantic Ocean at a great speed and have covered over 81 miles in the last 24 hours. It’s a nice gesture on the part of Root and Bairstow, as it does help when public figures stand up for a cause to raise awareness.
