Kumar Sangakkara destroys the opposition with his silken drives and gorgeous cuts. But Sanga has other ways of getting at the opposition as well. In the ICC World Cup 2003 in South Africa, the hosts — led by Shaun Pollock — took on Sri Lanka at Durban. South Africa were chasing 268, and were 149 for five when this happened.

The pressure was huge on Pollock as captain and in front of his home crowd in such a big game. Sanga was too clever to let go off the opportunity to pile on the pressure. The Lankan showed that he is as good with his words as he is with his bat by playing some cerebral mind games to upset Pollock’s equilibrium. The rest is best seen than said.
