Memories of good times: Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag pose for selfie in a private jet

Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag have been a part of many happy dressing rooms for India. It was under Ganguly’s captaincy that Sehwag made his Test debut in 2001 and developed as a batsman. After Sehwag announced his retirement last month, he went on to credit Ganguly for his successful Test career. It was Ganguly, who first spotted the opener in him. He was quoted by ANI as saying, “Ganguly sacrificed his opening spot for me, he loved me and had confidence in me. So, thank you Sourav, I am grateful to you. You saw me as a Test player. Had I not played in Tests, I would not have scored these so many runs.” Virender Sehwag credits Sourav Ganguly for his successful Test career

Having shared many memorable partnerships over the years, even after retirement, both Ganguly and Sehwag once again find themselves in the same dressing room. The duo are currently playing for the Sachin Tendulkar-led Sachin’s Blasters in the Cricket All-Stars T20, a cricket series incepted by Tendulkar and Shane Warne, in a bid to promote the sport in the United States. Having lost the first two games at New York and Houston, Sachin’s Blasters may have lost the series, but they have a lot of pride to play for in the final game at Los Angeles (LA).

On their way to LA, Ganguly and Sehwag were seen enjoying each other’s company. Ganguly, who isn’t very frequent in the social media space, didn’t want to miss this opportunity and posted a selfie with Sehwag. He posted:

Sehwag scored 55 at New York and 16 at Houston, while Ganguly scored 12 at Houston. He missed the first game, as he had to attend the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) AGM, as he is also the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
