Ravi Bhagchandka, producer of 200 Not Out, a docu-feature on Sachin Tendulkar said that no deadline has been set by either him or the cricket maestro.
âIt is a high-pressure film and we are focused on a global release. I have not set a deadline, nor has Sachin,â Bhagchandka told Times of India.
Bhagchandka also revealed that Tendulkar allowed him to film his private discussions with wife Anjali to certain âritualsâ he performed at night before every match.
Bhagchandka also revealed that London-based, writer, director and producer James Erskine will be working on the film with him.
âTaking an Indian director would have meant handing the reins over to someone who grew up watching Sachin bat. My film is a Britâs take on Sachinâs life,â said the producer.
âWeâve filmed Hollywood stars, athletes from outside the field of cricket and celebrities from different sport,â said Ravi, not disclosing any names.
On meeting Tendulkar for the first time, Bhagchandka said, âWhen I approached him, he said that he was destined to do this film and immediately came on board.â
âIt will be in 70mm, with an original background score. What This Is It was for Michael Jackson our film is for Sachin.â
Talking about Tendulkarâs participation in the film, Bhagchandka said, âHe wonât be acting, heâll just do what he did years ago. Weâll see where he was hiding while the world chased him for 26 years.â
