India’s bid to retain their No.1 ranking in Tests received major jolt thanks to the weather at Port of Spain in the ongoing fourth Test of the series. Wet outfield led to no play on Day 3 too. India had to win the fourth Test to retain the No.1 spot where they ascended as Australia lost 0-3 against Sri Lanka. It must be frustrating for captain Virat Kohli and his men to not get the opportunity to defend the tag, however, the Indians made up for their loss.

West Indian cricket legends Garry Sobers, Everton Weekes and Gordon Greenidge were present at Port of Spain to be part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Queen’s Park Cricket Club, which owns the iconic Queen’s Park Oval. Kohli infact went on to show his glee on meeting Sobers. He posted a selfie with Sobers and wrote, “What a moment when you go to meet the great man and he says ‘i was looking forward to meet you’. Absolutely in awe of this great man. Sir garfield sobers. Feel blessed to have had a conversation with him. #grateful .”

Two days are still left in the Port of Spain Test and even if play resumes today, a result is highly unlikely.
