Ravichandran Ashwin opens up on his best Indian skipper, names Sourav Ganguly his favourite

Indian ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been a sensation to watch since his inception into the national side. Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have been three influential captains for India in the recent times.All three of them have a massive fan following and have been prolific when it comes to captaincy.

In an interview on Tamil reality TV show, Ashwin opened up on his favourite captain and named Sourav Ganguly as his preferred skipper. He has seen Ganguly shaping the young talents and building a team.  In the show, when Ashwin was asked about his favourite captain – Dhoni, Kohli or Ganguly? He instantly replied saying Ganguly.

Ashwin debuted in international cricket in the year 2011 under the watchful eyes of Dhoni, but in his learning days he saw how Ganguly was instrumental in building the team.

Ganguly is loved by many cricket fans for his guile and ability to make smart decisions in tough situations. Ashwin on the other hand has enhanced as a spinner and led the spin attack with immense confidence. Ashwin has been heavily inspired by Ganguly and will continue to flourish in future. At present he plays Test cricket under Kohli’s captaincy as the latter took over in December.
