Cricket legend Tendulkar shared a childhood picture of his and Kambli’s from his Instagram account saying ‘Down the memory lane.. #tbt.’ The childhood buddies, who spent their formative years in Sharadashram Vidyamandir, learning cricket together, later played domestic and international cricket together. Right since school to international cricket, both have been involved in several memorable partnerships. As school cricketers, the duo registered a massive 664-run stand for Sharadashram Vidyamandir. The legendary partnership turned the schoolboys into household names in Mumbai. Soon, Tendulkar got his India cap and over the years with talent, determination and focus, went on to be one of the greatest of the game quite in contrast to Kambli’s career. The left-hander, who too followed Tendulkar into the national side a few years later, couldn’t really make use of his talent to best effect. Injuries played a role in hampering his career, added with disciplinary problems and external influences.

When Tendulkar retired, Kambli made it clear that he was upset when the former didn’t mention him in the farewell speech. Kambli had then admitted that both weren’t in talking terms. He had then said, “We haven’t been talking for the last seven years, but on occasions we do wish each other via text. A lot of people and our fans are asking me as to why he didn’t mention my name in his farewell speech and why wasn’t I invited for the party, which close friends and associates who played an important role in his career were a part of. Only Tendulkar can answer that.”

The two friends may have fallen apart but walking down the memory lane, Tendulkar seems to truly cherish the memories he spent with Kambli.

Down to the memory lane.. #tbt
