It was a sad affair to see team India crashing out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 after the defeat at the hands of co-hosts Australia. What looked more painful was to see thousands of fans at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in tears, completely shattered after the loss.
To add more grief, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkarâs wax statue has also been moved out of the Madame Tussauds museum in Sydney after Indiaâs exit. The wax statue had Tendulkar wearing Indiaâs World Twenty20 (T20) tournament jersey, which Tendulkar never played in. It is believed that a Mid-Day journalist gave the reality check to the authorities about the mistake. The authorities gave the assurance that the changes will be made.
The statue was guaranteed to be an everlasting figure but when the newspaper revisited the museum at Darling Harbour, they were shocked to get the reply that the statue had been moved out some time ago. âSachinâs statue has been moved three months ago to our facility in Bangkok. We often do such transfer of statues from one venue to another,â the museumâs supervisor said in a report from Mid-Day.
This comes as a big astonishment for all the fans if they go to the museum looking out for the statue of the Indian run-machine.
