Sammy and Pietersen, friends forever!

Darren Sammy truly is a character. Whether playing or not, you can’t just keep him out of the action. Even after St Lucia Zouks failed to make it to the semi-final stage of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2015, captain Sammy didn’t let the situation get better of him. It’s a tough time for the players to say farewell to each other. Sammy’s side was later led by Kevin Pietersen after the former broke his hand during the tournament. The Zouks had a mixed run in the tournament but failed to qualify to the next stage. Both the Zouks’ skippers — Sammy and Pietersen bonded well in the past few weeks.

After having a great time together in the Caribbean, it’s time for the players to bid goodbye to each other. Sammy certainly seemed to have enjoyed Pietersen’s company and expressed his glee by posting a picture of both on Instagram. He wrote, “It’s been a pleasure having you around #legend #teamplayer#zouklife #greatBloke#gottahavehiminyourteam #cpl2016 #hurry@kp24.”

The franchise based cricket has helped cricketers from different nations gel well together and the building of their camaraderie. Earlier, the Zouks’ family was also seen out for a team dinner. The Zouks’ will look forward to bounce back stronger in the next season.
