Shoaib Malik scored his maiden double hundred against England in the first Test at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. He was dismissed for 245 and it this will be remembered as one of the most memorable comebacks in Test cricket. Malik had started his career as bowler who batted late in the order to become one of their premier batsmen. He was inducted in the Test line-up after a long gap of half a decade and he made it count.

Malik instantly credited his mother for his success and tweeted last night.

In a report from PTI, Malik also credited his wife and went on to say on a channel, “I think there was pressure on me to also perform as a professional sportsman after Sania’s outstanding success in recent times on the tennis court.”

It surely seems lady-luck is shining bright on the Pakistani all-rounder and on Wednesday he notched up his highest First-Class score. Incidentally, this year has been good for Malik in terms of his One-Day International (ODI) record where he averages a Bradmanesque-like 100, probably was also the reason for his inclusion in the Test unit.
