Speed-king Brett Lee wishes melody-queen Asha Bhosle on her birthday

Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee is one of the most loved figures in India. He isn’t just loved for his lethal pace but also for his jovial nature and of course music. In 2007, Lee and Indian singing legend Asha Bhosle released a duet You’re the One for Me.

It’s believed that the lyrics for the song were written by Lee within half an hour in between Champions Trophy net sessions in 2006 in India. Lee even featured in the video along with Asha, where he was seen trying to win the heart of a young Indian woman and Asha played the role of an advisor, teaching him Hindi.

Lee and Asha have built a great camaraderie since then and on the latter’s 81st birthday, Lee wished her through a tweet. Asha too reciprocated his gesture with a thank you tweet.
