Sreesanth to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Cricketers getting involved with politics is not something new. They enjoy enormous fan following and political parties try to cash-in the popularity. On this occasion, Indian speedster Sreesanth, who is facing a life-ban from BCCI for his alleged role in spot-fixing, has decided to try his hand in politics and for that purpose he is expected to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sreesanth will be meeting to discuss his role for Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala ahead of the elections on May 16. Earlier, there were reports, which claimed Sreesanth’s intention to join the BJP.

According to the reports, Sreesanth will also be requesting for a ticket from the Tripunithura constituency in Kochi. Earlier, he also made it clear to the party leadership that he is willing to help the campaigning course if he does not get the ticket from a constituency he prefers to.

As reported by The News Minute on Tuesday, the BJP in Kerala had approached Sreesanth to contest the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. Sreesanth has also spent time in jail for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing in IPL 2013, however he still maintains that he is innocent. Last year, a court acquitted him of the charges.

Sreesanth has a huge fan base. Hope, he can clean his tainted image through politics and contribute to the society.
