Sunil Chhetri, Virat Kohli indulge in bromance on Twitter

Cricket and football in India share a good bond. Kohli also co-owns Goa FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). So when the Indian football team won the SAFF Cup for the seventh time by beating Afghanistan, Kohli took to his Twitter handle to express his joy and wrote, “Congratulations Team India for lifting the SAFF cup for the 7th time. That extra time winner from @chetrisunil11 was mind blowing! #INDvAFG

It was a great gesture from Kohli as he also applauded skipper Chhetri’s brilliant effort in the extra time which saw his side claiming the title. Chettri also made a commendable reply to this tweet of Kohli by tweeting:

As India will be touring Australia this month for the One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) series, Chhetri is quite sure that India will surely get the job done Down Under, without stretching it too far and needing the extra time.

Kohli has been belligerent when it comes to captaincy, as he has made a name for himself in no time by winning back-to-back series. It would be great to see the side flourishing in Australia, where Kohli will play a key role as he’s been a consistent performer in the shorter formats.
